Photocells and Safety Devices on Automated Gates

Photocells
A beam across the opening tells the motor something is in the way. Alignment, height and clean lenses matter. A beam mounted too high misses a child; too low and wet grass or a dog sets it off all day.
Edges and reverse
Safety edges on the leading face of a sliding gate, and obstacle detection on swing rams, are additional layers. They must remain in circuit when an intercom or access reader is added.
Loops
An inductive loop in the driveway can hold a gate open while a vehicle is still on the apron, or trigger an exit. Placed on the public road it will open for traffic that is not yours.
Do not bypass safety to stop nuisance trips
If beams false-trigger, fix alignment or move them. CapeCore will not leave a gate on a timer with safety defeated.
