The entrance is a choke point

Most useful footage of a property is at the gate, the garage and the front door. A camera aimed at a wide garden rarely identifies anyone. Place cameras to see the approach, the opening, and if needed a second tighter view of faces or plates.

Number plates need a dedicated view

A wide scene camera will not reliably read plates at night. Plate capture wants a narrower field, consistent mounting height and lighting that does not flare on chrome and wet tar. Treat it as its own camera, not a bonus from the garden view.

Work with the gate and the garage

If the sliding gate opens, the camera should still see who walks through the gap. If a garage door is the main vehicle entry, cover the apron as well as the street. Gate motors, intercoms and CCTV belong in one walk-around.

CapeCore specifies the opening

We look at the actual leaf, the pedestrian gate and the lighting before quoting cameras. Related work includes gate motors and garage doors.
